About

Optical antennas is a research field focused on the design, fabrication, and characterization of nanoscale structures capable of interacting strongly with electromagnetic radiation at optical frequencies. These structures function analogously to conventional radio-frequency antennas, enabling the efficient conversion of free-propagating light into localized optical fields and vice versa, thereby enhancing light-matter interactions for diverse applications in nanophotonics, sensing, and spectroscopy.
